Lagos state is known for its bouyant IGR, Population and Excellence. But, perhaps knowingly or unknowingly, one thing evades the keen eye of it's Government.

During the First Tenure of the Late President Muhammadu Buhari, He labeled the Youths as "lazy Youths" . Recently this year, The popular Musician YCEE termed the youth with a concept he called "Olodo Uprising". While you might think there is no correlation between these two examples, I'll have you know that bothe are dwelling on one subject "The Youths". Several examples also exist where by yhe Youths are being called out in terms of their lifestyle,Behavioral Patterns, social interaction, Mindset and Career Choices.

It is undisputable that there are serious underlying problems regarding "The Youths" and concerns have been raised regularly over the years by several parties. But then let's talk about Practical Solutions counter this Problems.

One of the Problems I'll be highlighting now is the Financial capacity of Tertiary Students and how that affect their lifestyle and career choices.

Imagine chinedu goes to a tertiary institution in lagos, poor background, single mother, 5 children's and a monthly wage of 30,000 which is not even up to the minimum wages in Nigeria as contained in the constitution!. We'd still come back to that. Now! The economy has hitting a depressive curve, there's sudden surge in prices of normal goods, same wages, more debit.

Chinedu has no to means to pay his school fees and accommodation fees, his barbing skills is not desired by people and he has no avenue to raise money. Nelfund is not feasible for him as his students records is missing, One management issue from three different sources. "Federal, state and institution".

Then he falls to social vices, started to engage in shady activities to make ends meet and later got involved in cyber crime. Now chinedu has been arrested and there ends his journey.

The light shines on Raphael as he makes his way to his departmental Legislative business sitting.

He trekked to the venue, he dosent have the money, it wasn't easy but he is determined. His parents are middle class fighting legal suits of cases they are innocent about, but the shadow casted on the truth seems difficult to unveil.

He survives mostly on loan and scholarship schemes. He dosent have a trade he has learnt due to the finances. He applied for a Government initiative But the last time he Checked, FME.TVETS that was supposed to launch by August hasn't even closed for Registration in the month of October. Another Implementation Issue to take not of. but all still the same. It is LazyYouths and Olodo Uprising.

There should be a body regulating policy implementation and management transparency alien from external and internal influence.

Alot of ideas, A lot of Dreams, A lot of career paths sniffed off along the day due to a single selfish interest.

I should stop here. That is a discussion of another day. But while elections is by the corner and all political stakeholders are active. I hope after elections, the same energy can be sustained.
