Lagos faces a growing waste management problem that affects public health and the environment. This policy idea proposes a state framework that makes waste sorting (separating plastics, organic waste, and recyclables) compulsory in schools, markets, and public spaces. To make it work, the state should offer small tax incentives and support to local recycling startups and young green entrepreneurs who turn waste into useful products. This will keep our streets cleaner, create local jobs, and build a sustainable environment
