OMOLEYE ABIODUN FRANCIS

Member, House of Representatives – Ijero/Ekiti West/Efon Federal Constituency, Ekiti State Hon. Omoleye Abiodun Francis is a first-term Member of Nigeria’s 10th National Assembly, representing the Ijero/Ekiti West/Efon Federal Constituency of Ekiti State under the All Progressives Congress (APC). His extensive career in public service and governance reflects a deep commitment to community development and national progress. Early Life and Education Born on December 25, 1968, in Ekiti State, Hon. Omoleye pursued higher education culminating in a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in International Relations and Strategic Studies. This academic foundation has informed his approach to policy and governance. Professional and Political Career Hon. Omoleye's professional journey began as a Clerical Officer at the University of Efe (now Obafemi Awolowo University) from 1978 to 1988. He then served as an Education and Training Consultant with the British Educational Training and Technology Association between 1986 and 1989. In 1990, he joined Capital Oil PLC, gaining valuable experience in the private sector. His political career commenced in 1993 when he was appointed State Secretary of the National Republican Convention (NRC) in Osun State. He later served as the General Manager of the Ekiti State Emergency Management Agency in 2010 and as Senior Special Assistant on Policy and Strategy to the Governor of Ekiti State from October 2010 to October 2011. From February 2012 to 2022, he was the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee for Ijero Local Government, a role he held until his election to the National Assembly in 2023. Legislative Contributions In the House of Representatives, Hon. Omoleye has been active in legislative duties. Notably, he sponsored the bill for the establishment of the Federal College of Nursing and Midwifery in Ijero Ekiti, aiming to enhance healthcare education and services in the region.
