Summary & Analysis
This law amends the Ekiti State Regency Law, 2015, specifically extending the tenure of a regent. A regent shall now hold office for six months (not more), but the Governor may grant an extension upon application by the regent. The extension period is determined by the Governor and specified in a letter of approval. During the extended period, the regent continues to enjoy government recognition and financial entitlements. The amendment overrides the earlier Chiefs Law regarding regency tenure.
