Biography
Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru is a Nigerian banker, chartered accountant, and politician, currently serving as the Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District. He holds a B.Sc in Economics from Lagos State University and has completed advanced management programs at Harvard Business School and Lagos Business School. Abiru's career spans both banking and public service, having served as Group Managing Director of Polaris Bank, where he led the transformation of the former Skye Bank. He also served as Lagos State Commissioner for Finance, where he implemented significant financial reforms. In 2020, he won the Lagos East Senatorial seat under the All Progressives Congress (APC) and was named Chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking in 2023.
